Pakhlava is one of the irreplaceable sweets of our tables in Novruz holiday. It decorates our tables with shakarbura and goghal.
We need the followings to prepare the pastry of pakhlava:
- 0.5 liters of milk
- 1 glass of melted butter
- 1 glass of egg (about 4-5 eggs)
- flour
- yeast
- salt
To prepare the syrup of pakhlava:
- 2 glasses of water
- 1.5 glasses of sugar
- 1 full table spoon of honey
- half a lemon
To prepare the stuffing of pakhlava:
- 1 kg walnut kernel
- 1 kg of sugar
- Milled cardamom
In order to prepare the stuffing for pakhlava we grind 1 kg of walnut in the nut grinder and add 1 k g of sugar and milled cardamom and mix them.
In order to prepare pastry of pakhlava we heat 0.5 liters of milk on the stove and add butter on it. After that we add the eggs on it and beat the eggs by hand. We add yeast, salt and flour to pastry then we knead the pastry and wait for the pastry rise for 1-2 hours.
This recipe can be in different numbers depending on cutting.
